Summary: The below article will walk you through the steps necessary to adding a canned PCS Calculated Field to an External Bridge Definition, using a User Defined Field (UDF).
Note: At this time, this is the only way to add a PCS Calculated Field to an External Bridge
In the below example we'll be using 'Days Until Delinquent' as the Calculated Field we want added to the External Bridge.
Create Calculated UDF Field
-
-
Days Until Delinquent can be found under Common to All Facility Types- Permanent Information. This new field needs to be in the same place as the existing field.
- Click on Calculated at the top to create a Calculated UDF Field. Name the field what you’d like.
-
Set the UDF Field Data Type to match the Days Until Delinquent Field exactly. This can always be found in the UDF screen next to each property, you can do this for any field in the database. In this case, it’s a numeric field with a width of 5 and 0 decimal places.
- In the Advanced Mode (near the bottom of the dialog box), set the Expression to Days Until Delinquent, click Save.
-
Add the Field to the Bridge Definition
-
Click on Add Data Item, and then you will add Test Point Information (or Rectifier Information, etc depending on the facility you are wanting to get this data for).
-
Then click on Edit in the Maps Section and find your newly created field under Test Point Facility Fields, and add it to the right hand side of the screen. Under External Column, you can rename this to DaysUntilDelinquent (or whatever you choose).
-
Under Data Transfer, you can set this to run on a scheduled cadence, and specify that you only want data that’s changed since the last export.
-
You can then save the bridge definition and click Export at the top to execute the bridge to run.
The field will be exported to SQL along with any other data elements you include in the Bridge Definition.
You have now successfully added a PCS Calculated Field to your External Bridge Definition
