The RM540's relay (REL2502) has an internal shunt that can be used to get an Amps reading with a Volt meter.
- The REL2502 has an internal shunt with a value of 3.5 mOhms (3.5mV=1A)
- To get a manual amps reading, place your DVM probes on the shunt screws pictured below.
- Take the millivolts value and divide by 3.5 to get the amps value.
- Example: if you read 2.2mV across the shunt you would calculate as 2.2/3.5=0.629 reading 0.629 Amps or 629mA.
