*Please note that these steps will cover updating some setting(s) in anticipation (of) a screen locking or freezing up. These steps cannot help you if the tablet is currently frozen.
1. Navigate to Settings on the MESA tablet and go into Keypad
2. Choose a key that you don't use often and select it (I chose the Diamond key for our example) You'll want to remap this to Touchscreen Enable/Disable.
3. You are all set to go now. If you see the touch screen freeze press this button to disable the touchscreen and once more to reenable it. We've found a lot of success with restoring functionality using this method.
*Final Note: if you are unsure if your touchscreen is currently disabled or enabled please look at the top right corner of your display.
If you see this symbol with the X through it, the touchscreen is disabled.
If you see this symbol of the finger pointing down, the touchscreen is enabled.
