Common Causes:
- Missing or Corrupt License File: The license file is missing from the expected director; License information in the registry is missing or corrupt.
- Upgrading/Moving PCS: Moving PCS to a new computer or after an upgrade; the license didn't transfer.
- Permissions Issue: PCS cannot read the folder/registry where the license is stored due to lack of permissions.
- Software Bug or Incomplete Installation: The installation was not completed or some files are missing.
Resolution:
- Validate that there are enough seats available on the license to accommodate the user. If there are not, release unused seats or purchase additional seats.
- If issue persist - delete the license file, as it may have corrupted - follow the steps below to locate and delete the license file.
- Completely close out of PCS
- Locate the license file on the machine - the local installation for a license file is as follow:
C:\Users\(UserName)\AppData\Local\American Innovations\PCS
Note: This is a path to the LOCAL license file - if your organization hosts PCS through a virtual environment such as Citrix, consult with your IT to get the license file deleted. - Delete the license file
- Relaunch PCS and verify the issue is resolved
- Completely close out of PCS
