Purpose: This article will explain several reasons why you might not be receiving alerts from Bullhorn Web when your Bullhorn unit transmits an alarm packet to the website.
- Alarms: Packets generated by the remote monitor based on parameters set in the unit for triggering events.
- Alerts: Notifications sent out by the website based on data (or lack of data) received from the remote monitor.
There are several reasons why an alert might not be sent after an alarm packet has been received:
- The service status is set to "Installed Notifications Off". (On the all units page click on the pencil to the right of the Dome unit name to get to this screen.)
Change to Installed Notifications On to resolve this issue.
An alarm is configured on the unit, but no alert is set up on the website.
(Incoming Packets can be viewed by clicking on the unit’s name on the All-Units page and then this will take you to the Unit Detail page. Then click on the incoming packet tab. Alert Settings can be viewed by clicking on the pencil to the right of the unit’s name (Dome Module) on the All-Units page, this will take you to the Unit Admin page. Then click on Alerts. On the alerts, if there are alerts click on your alert and then conditions.)
Set up a new alert to resolve this issue.
- The unit alarm and alert are out of sync. The alarm value does not match the alert value.
(Incoming Packets can be viewed by clicking on the unit’s name on the All-Units page and then this will take you to the Unit Detail page. Then click on the incoming packet tab)
Alarm Settings can be viewed by clicking on the pencil to the right of the unit’s name (I/O Module) on the All-Units page, this will take you to the Unit Admin page. Then click on channel settings and the arrow to the right of the channel name. On the pop-up scroll down to Alarm Settings.
Alert Settings can be viewed by clicking on the pencil to the right of the unit’s name (Dome Module) on the All-Units page, this will take you to the Unit Admin page. Then click on Alerts. On the alerts, if there are alerts click on your alert and then conditions.)
Update your Alert to match your Alarm settings.
