Purpose: The GPS3XX interrupter's coin battery stores pre-programmed settings. When the battery has low voltage a warning message will appear upon startup. If this happens you have 3 options.
OPTION 1: Ignore the warning and your interruption settings will not be saved.
OPTION 2: You can replace it yourself by removing two bottom screws, carefully prying the faceplate, opening the unit without damaging ribbon cables, and sliding out the battery. Install a new battery, reassemble carefully, and avoid damaging components. If unsure, contact American Innovations for replacement.
OPTION 3: Return the device to American Innovations to have a new battery installed.

Remove Face Plate Screws: Remove the two back screws at the bottom of the face plate. These screws can be extremely tight and can easily be damaged during removal. Use a (PH1) Phillips Head Screwdriver and press the driver firmly into the screw and slightly rotate left and right until the screw pops free, then remove the screws fully.

Pry Open the Face Plate: Pry the bottom of the face plate up from the bottom by inserting a small Flat Head Screwdriver or Pry Tool into the slot at the bottom of the face plate. Insert the tool only the minimum amount needed to lift the bottom of the face plate up, making sure not to damage any internal components. It is only necessary to lift the bottom about ½ of an inch up.
- Detach From The Top Bracket: With the bottom of the face place lifted slightly, pull the face plate towards you (towards the bottom) to separate the top of the face plate from the top of the bracket that secures it. You only need to separate the top portion about ¼ an inch.
- Open the Unit: Open the unit carefully. There are ribbon cables that connect the face plate to the control board on the left side of the unit that can be damaged when opening the unit. Once the face plate is free, rotate it to the left like you are opening a book and set it on top of the lid.

Remove the Battery: To remove the battery push it to the left and the right side should pop out, letting you remove the battery.
*DO NOT drop the battery onto the control board as this can damage the components.- If you have to use a tool to gently pry the battery out of the holder - it is best to use a took that is not made of metal. Do not force the battery out as the plastic battery holders are easily damaged.

- Replace the Battery & Reassemble: Once you have your new battery installed, reassembly of the unit should be the previous steps in-reverse order:
a. Rotate the lip to the right like you are closing a book being careful not to pinch or put a crease in the ribbon cables.
b. Insert the top of the face plate into the top bracket.
c. Let the face plate fall back into place.
d. Ensure the screw holes in the face plate are in-line with the screw holes in the internal bracket.
e. Install the screws being careful not to cross thread them (they should go in without any force). Tighten the screws hand tight, without damaging the slots in the head.
