On the Bullhorn RM510C and RM510S, use Channel 1 for rectifier amps and Channel 2 for rectifier volts. Bullhorn Web reads analog Channel 1 as amps and Channel 2 as volts.

Applies to: Bullhorn RM510C, Bullhorn RM510S (RM5 series)

Channel Use it for Set in FieldPro
Channel 1 Rectifier current (amps), read across the shunt Shunt Rating (mV) and Current Capacity (A), for example 50 mV / 100 A
Channel 2 Rectifier voltage (volts), up to ±150 V DC or 150 V AC Input Type and Range

Note: Before you start, have these ready:

  • FieldPro, connected to the unit by Bluetooth
  • The site's shunt rating and current capacity
  • A DVM, to check the readings

Steps

  1. In FieldPro, tap Channels & Alarms.

You should see: the list of channels.

  2. Select Channel 1 (amps). Set the Shunt Rating (mV) and Current Capacity (A), for example 50 mV / 100 A.

You should see: Channel 1 set to read amps.

  3. Select Channel 2 (volts). Set the Input Type and Range for the rectifier voltage.

You should see: Channel 2 set to read volts.

  4. Tap Save & Send Configuration, then Send Test Message.

You should see: the settings saved to the unit and a test packet sent.

  5. In Bullhorn Web, open the unit's Packets tab. Compare Channel 1 (amps) and Channel 2 (volts) with your DVM readings.

You should see: readings that match your DVM within ±1%.

If It Didn't Work

What you see What it means What to do
Amps show on Channel 2, or volts on Channel 1 The leads or the channel settings are swapped Put amps on Channel 1 and volts on Channel 2, then send a new test message
The amps reading is far off The shunt rating or current capacity is wrong Check both against the shunt's label, then save again
